What your hypnotherapy fee pays for
Every fee includes the free 15-minute call and your sessions with me. Programs and plans also include a recording after each session to keep; on a single session, I include an audio for ongoing support where it helps.
- A 90-minute first session, then 60-minute sessions, all with me.
- On a program or plan, a recording after each session to use between visits.
- On a program or plan, follow-up after we finish and 12 months of support.

4-session program: $1,000 in total, $250 a session
Phobias, including fear of flying, heights, claustrophobia, emetophobia, agoraphobia and public speaking. Also social anxiety, exam nerves, confidence, imposter syndrome, putting things off, anger, drinking, drug addiction, nail biting, hair pulling, skin picking and bad dreams.
Paid at the start. As you go, it is $300 a session, $1,200 for four.
Treatment plan: $1,500 to $3,000 in total, $250 a session
Anxiety, health anxiety, panic attacks, stress and burnout, depression and low mood, trauma and PTSD, and OCD often take longer, so we map out a plan together at your first session.
Usually 6 to 12 sessions paid at the start. As you go, it is $300 a session, $1,800 to $3,600. Your $300 first session counts towards the plan.
Better sleep: $1,000 in total, $250 a session
Sleep work begins with the 4-session program. Most people need four sessions. If sleep has been broken for years, we sometimes go to six or eight, at $250 a session prepaid ($1,500 to $2,000), and you will know before we start.
As you go, it is $300 a session.
Gambling: $1,000 in total, $250 a session, paid at the start
Four sessions aimed at putting gambling down. The gambling program is paid at the start only; there is no pay-as-you-go option.
- Gambling often leaves hurt behind, for you and for the people close to you. Many people then go on to 4 to 8 sessions of emotional repair to heal and rebuild. We talk this through together, at your pace.
Quit smoking or vaping: $590 total
3 Steps to a Smoke Free Life. Smoking and vaping are separate programs.
$590 total whole program- One 90-minute session, designed to help you leave as a non-smoker or non-vaper.
- A full year of back-up when you want it: follow-up calls, text messages and top-up sessions as needed.
- If you go back to smoking or vaping later on, starting again is a new program.
Why most people pay at the start
Paying at the start costs $50 a session less, so a four-session program is $200 less than paying as you go. It also means every session after the first is already paid for, which most people find makes it easier to turn up and relax into the work. Prepaid sessions last 12 months. If you finish early, use what is left on another issue or give it to someone you know. On a 6 to 12-session plan, two instalments can be arranged; ask on the free call.
How the fee compares with a psychologist’s
A psychologist’s suggested fee is $330 for a 46 to 60-minute consultation (APS, 2026-27), and $340 for 60 minutes or $490 for 90 minutes on the AAPi schedule. My sessions are 60 minutes, the first one 90, for $300, or $250 on a program. There is one thing to weigh against that. With a GP Mental Health Treatment Plan, Medicare refunds $149.05 of a clinical psychologist’s fee and $101.55 of a registered psychologist’s, for up to 10 sessions a year. It refunds nothing for hypnotherapy. People choose to come here anyway for what they get instead: no referral, no diagnosis on their record, no yearly cap, a longer session, a recording to keep and a year of support. If the rebate matters more to you than those things, a psychologist is the right call, and I will say so on the free call.
Australians pay an average of $1,634 a year for health out of their own pockets, most of it on medicines and dental care (AIHW, 2023-24).
How to pay: card or bank transfer, no surcharge
You can pay by card or bank transfer, with no card surcharge. Cards go through Stripe. Once we’ve settled on a program, I’ll send you the details for paying. On a 6 to 12-session plan, two instalments can be arranged. Extra sessions beyond a plan are at the plan’s per-session rate.
Prepaid sessions, cancellations and refunds
Prepaid sessions last 12 months from the day you pay. Here are the rest of the terms in plain words.
- Prepaid sessions last 12 months. The 12 months start on the day you pay.
- Leftover sessions stay yours. Done early? Use what’s left on a different issue, or give them to a friend or family member.
- No change-of-mind refunds on prepaid programs. That’s the reason leftover sessions are so flexible. The Australian Consumer Law still applies to you in full.
- Moving a session. Let me know 24 hours or more ahead and we’ll pick a new time.
- Late cancelling or not showing up. With under 24 hours’ notice, or no notice at all, the session comes out of your program, or a cancellation fee may be charged.
- If I have to move a session. I’ll tell you as early as I can, and you keep that session.
The Australian Consumer Law protects youSome consumer rights come with my services automatically, and no one can take them away. My services have to be given with due care and skill. They have to suit the purpose we talked about. And they have to happen within a reasonable time. This page doesn’t reduce any of that. Not happy with a session? Talk to me and we’ll sort it out.
Medicare and private healthMedicare doesn’t pay for hypnotherapy. Health fund extras differ. Some funds pay something back and others don’t, so it’s worth a quick call to yours first.
Questions about hypnotherapy prices in Adelaide
The free 15-minute call costs nothing, and these are the money questions I hear most on it.
Is hypnotherapy covered by Medicare?
No. Medicare rebates go to psychologists and psychiatrists when you have a GP referral, and there is no item for hypnotherapy. You do not need a referral or a treatment plan to see me, nothing goes on your Medicare record, and there is no yearly cap on sessions. If the rebate matters more to you than that, I will tell you so on the free call.
Will my health fund pay anything?
Some extras policies pay a benefit for hypnotherapy, usually a small one and only on some levels of cover, and a few funds only pay when the hypnotherapist is also a psychologist. Check with your fund before you book. I am a Fellow of the Australian Society of Clinical Hypnotherapists, which is one of the associations funds look for.

There is no GST on these prices. What you see is the full amount.

By arrangement. Ask me on the free call and we will set it up.
Do your prices change?
I review them each 1 July. A program or plan you have paid for stays at the price you paid.
What if I have to move a session?
Give me 24 hours’ notice and we find another time. With less notice than that, the session comes out of your program, or a cancellation fee may be charged.
Is video the same price as in person?
Yes. The same fee by video anywhere in Australia or face to face in Adelaide by arrangement.
Is the first call really free?
Yes. Fifteen minutes on the phone, no booking fee and nothing to sign. You get a straight answer on whether hypnotherapy fits and what it would cost.
