Terms of Service
The terms for working with me, in plain words: fees, paying, moving a session, refunds and confidentiality.
Who these terms are with
These terms are between you and Ernest McLeod, a clinical hypnotherapist trading as The Hypno Coach (ABN 36 051 889 105). They cover sessions by video anywhere in Australia, and in person in Adelaide by arrangement. I work with adults 18 and over.
Your sessions and programs
We agree on the right option for you on the free 15-minute call or at your first session. The main options are:
- One session: $300.
- 4-session program: $1,000 paid upfront ($250 a session), or $300 a session paid as you go ($1,200 for four). The gambling program is $1,000, paid upfront only.
- Treatment plan (anxiety, health anxiety, panic attacks, stress and burnout, depression, trauma and PTSD, OCD): the first session is $300 and is credited to your plan. Plans usually run 6 to 12 sessions, at $250 a session prepaid or $300 a session paid as you go.
- 3 Steps to a Smoke Free Life (quit smoking) and the quit vaping program: $590 each. Each covers one 90-minute session plus 12 months of support, including follow-up calls, SMS and top-up sessions as needed. If you start smoking or vaping again, that needs a new program.
Full prices are on the pricing page. Programs and plans include a recording after each session to play at home between sessions. A single session includes the session itself, and may include an audio for ongoing support. We check in on how you’re going at every session, and either of us can end the work at any time. If I think another kind of help would serve you better, I’ll tell you and suggest where to go.
Paying
- Prices are in Australian dollars. No GST is added. These prices apply from 5 October 2026 and are reviewed each 1 July; a program or plan you have paid for stays at the price you paid.
- You can pay by card or bank transfer, with no card surcharge. Card payments go through Stripe.
- Prepaid programs are paid before the first session of the program. On a 6 to 12-session plan, two instalments can be arranged. Pay-as-you-go sessions are paid before or at each session. Sessions beyond a plan are at the plan’s per-session rate.
- Medicare doesn’t cover hypnotherapy. Some health funds pay something back under extras, so check with yours. Claiming from your fund is up to you.
Prepaid sessions
- Prepaid sessions are valid for 12 months from the day you pay.
- If you finish early, you can use leftover sessions for a different issue, or give them to a friend or family member.
- There are no change-of-mind refunds on prepaid programs. That’s why leftover sessions are so flexible.
Moving or cancelling a session
- Let me know 24 hours or more ahead and we’ll find a new time, at no cost.
- With less than 24 hours’ notice, or no notice at all, the session comes out of your program, or a cancellation fee may be charged.
- If I have to move a session, I’ll tell you as early as I can, and you keep that session.
Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law
Some consumer rights come with my services automatically and can’t be excluded. My services must be provided with due care and skill, be fit for the purpose we discussed, and be supplied within a reasonable time. Nothing in these terms reduces those rights. If you’re not happy with a session, please talk to me first and we’ll sort it out.
Confidentiality
What you tell me stays confidential. I only share your information with your written consent, or where Australian law requires or permits it. For example, that can happen if there’s a serious threat to someone’s life, health or safety, or if a court orders it. If a disclosure is ever required, I’ll tell you first where I’m allowed to. My privacy policy explains how I collect, store and protect your information.
Working together
- You take part willingly, and you can withdraw your consent at any time, including part way through a session.
- Sessions work best when you join in fully and practise between them, for example by playing your audio recording.
- I only record a session itself with your written agreement first.
- If you need it for court, I can give you a letter confirming your attendance.
- Hypnotherapy is a complementary therapy. It doesn’t replace medical or psychological care, so keep seeing your GP or psychologist while we work together.
Results
Everyone is different, so I can’t promise a particular result. I’ll be honest about what hypnotherapy can and can’t do for you, and about how you’re going.
Audio recordings you buy online
Self-hypnosis recordings are sold through hypnotherapyaustralia.store, and that store’s own terms apply to those purchases. Recordings are for your personal use only. Please don’t copy, share, sell or play them in public.

Changes to these terms
I may update these terms from time to time. The version on this page applies from the date below. Prices and terms you’ve already agreed to and paid for stay as they were.
